The book "Human Skeletal Anatomy, Laboratory Manual and Workbook" written by Scott I. Fairgrieve and Tracy S Oost has 166 pages and it is designed to assist students in Human Skeletal Anatomy.

As a workbook, its strong points are its flexibility; user friendliness and regional approach, which coupled with the incremental manner of presentation of materials, tend to aid memory.

Furthermore, important points are highlighted for emphasis, another aid to learning. It is well illustrated with diagrams and the series of exercises commend it as a well-written laboratory manual and workbook.

Because of its focus on the human skeleton, it will be valuable to Osteologists, Physical and Forensic Anthropologists/Pathologists, in their quest to acquaint themselves with the basic ingredients of the human skeleton that they very much require.

The book is also recommended to Preclinical Medical Students as it provides them with the 'nitty gritty' they require in their early Medical Education especially in identifying human skeletal materials.

I have found the description of the individual bones very easy and interesting. However, the book does not tackle ossification of individual bones, which is vital to Medical Practitioners considering the dearth of osteologists in the developing world, especially Africa. This does not take away the credit due the Authors as they have painstakingly produced an interesting and very educative book that will adequately meet the needs of those the book is intended for.
